Is it a school? Is it a shoal? Our Great Lakes are teeming with abundant life— a beautiful and unique ecosystem balanced harmoniously through companionship, cooperation, and competition. This watercolor creatively explores a symbiotic environment outside the natural order. One that can only be witnessed imaginatively. And yet— isn’t nature known to surprise us?
Fun Facts
-there are 195 fish total (including partial fish)
-these fish were created using 100% free-hand watercolor (no pens, pencils, or other materials were used)
-I painted mostly in the middle of the night (to ensure its safety from my curious kiddos!)
-I had to climb onto the painting in order to reach the edges
-two beloved paint brushes were ruined during the making of this piece (they could never be replaced!)
